Our dear Irene died of a ruptured appendix…

We just learned through an autopsy report that our dear Irene died of a ruptured appendix. By the time she began showing symptoms it had already ruptured. Irene never complained of pain or discomfort before or during her hospital stay. Her belly just continued to fill with infection until her body just shut down. There probably wasn’t much that could have been done for her by Kenyan standards. We’re confident the staff did all they could for her. The staff and their Bishop are arranging a small funeral service for her at the orphanage, they will then transport her body to her place of birth for her burial. In Kenya you are buried where you are born which is more than likely where your family roots are and where most of the relatives live. The children are still processing things and there is a lot of gospel teaching happening as they learn first hand what happens to the body and spirit after death. We have wonderful missionaries helping and their Bishop has arranged for members to drop by and visit with the kids this week. We are so blessed with good people and staff to help these kids. Thank you all fo your continued love, support and prayers!
